Our giving back activities are back!
For those who have been touched by cancer, the statement that "cancer sucks" just doesn't seem to grasp the entirety of how bad cancer hits a family. Steve McMillan, the founder of McMillan Professionals, had this one hit his family at a very young age. That experience would change Steve's life. While his father is still alive, being there for family comes first. It is with that in mind that this company is thriving today. To know that no matter what, no job is as important as family.
Steve donates to this society because of the impact it had on helping his dad become cured!
Zac Cohen was a native of Highland Park and attended Highland Park schools. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina destroyed many New Orleans homes, at the tender age of 7, Zac wanted to help the smallest victims...the children. From his desire to help, Zac’s Zoo was formed, along with cuddle-comfort criteria of which Zac insisted each stuffed animal must possess. Through Zac’s efforts over 10,000 stuffed animals were collected and donated to the children impacted by Katrina.
Sadly, Zac was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident, on September 7th, 2018. It’s in his spirit that Zac’s Zoo continues.
It can be overwhelming seeing people treat others with disrespect. Even when it comes to people like our law enforcement and first responders. That is why we chose to list this cause to show our respect for what these heroes do for us every day We decide to show respect for those who put their lives on the line .to keep us safe.
We pray that all of you get home safe to your families!
